Cantonment
Area
You
need to show a
government issued picture ID at the gate and be on the re-enactors list
(pre-registered)
to enter this
event. In
addition, your vehicle must be insured and
registered.
SHAEF
personnel will be at this gate from 1300-2300 on Friday, October 2nd
and
0600-0730 on Saturday, October 3rd. Please do not attempt to
enter except during these hours!
You will not be admitted.
Do
not attempt to leave Wendell Ford by any other gate except this one!
Lodging
Wendell
Ford requires an accurate count of who is staying in either
the Barracks Bay or in a Private Room (chargeable housing) 30 days
prior to the event. Therefore, Event Staff must
receive your
PAPERWORK and PAYMENT no later than August 24, 2009
(postmark
date) in order to stay in the Barracks or a Private Room.

Barracks
Bunks:
Basic
barrack bunks - 30 beds per bay - 4 bays per
building. Bring your own
sheets, pillows, soap, and toilet paper. Please keep
it clean - Be
considerate of your neighbors. If you want to stay up late or
snore
like a chainsaw, consider getting a Private Room instead.
Barracks bunks are free but you must
pre-register early
(Option #1 on the Pre-Registration page)
to reserve them. No
parking in
front of the Barracks Bay. You will be directed
to the proper
nearby parking area. No cleaning weapons in the barracks.
No ammo or pyro in the barracks!
There
are no female Barracks Bays. Women will need to get a
Private Room. Units with at least 25 people will be given
their own Barracks Bay.
Private
Rooms:
Cable
TV, refrigerators, alarm clock, coffee maker and shared
bathrooms. Bring your own
sheets, pillows, soap, and toilet paper. Please keep
it clean. The $15 Private Room per night fee is exactly what
Wendell Ford
charges us. Only one person
per room! You must pre-register
early (Option #1 on the Pre-Registration page)
to reserve a room. No cleaning weapons in the rooms.
No
ammo or pyro in the rooms!
Camping:
Two period
camps are located in Training Area One.
Germans will be within
walking distance from the POV asphalt plant parking area.
Period
shuttle service provided as needed between both camping areas and the
POV parking area at the Asphalt plant. Camps are to be
authentic re-creations of
a WWII ETO war zone. No modern items - No
modern vehicles - No
modern tents including Hexagon US military type. If you are
in the training / camping areas,
you need to
be dressed in uniform. Campfires will be allowed ONLY
IF conditions allow them. Dumpsters,
water, male and female port-a-johns will be available at both
camps.
There
are a limited amount of hotels in
Greenville, KY.
Food

The
Mess Hall will be open to reenactors only on Saturday
morning for
an All-You-Can-Eat Breakfast. Cost for the breakfast is $7
and
must be prepaid using Option #1 on
the Pre-Registration page.
Breakfast will be served from
0530 - 0730.
Do not forget to take off your cover.
Canteen:
Canteen
sells both snack foods/drinks, basic items, and
sandwiches. Hours
are 0800 -

There
are no close by restaurants to Wendell Ford. The nearest
is 10 miles away.
Vendors:
Vendors
and helpers must
pre-register. If you are planning to also
participate in
the battle, then you pay the standard Event Fee ($20 Early
Registration/$25 Late Registration). If you
only plan to
sell, then you pay the Vendor Fee ($10 Early Registraion/$15
Late
Registration). No table fees and no
tables available - you must bring your own. Vendors
may only sell at the POV parking
lot at the Sim center! We will be happy to
post a link
to your website under the Confirmed Attendance page
to let
people know you are coming to the event.
Additionally, please follow these rules:
- Keep
it military, no velvet paintings of Elvis unless he is
wearing his 3rd Armored uniform.
- Keep
it clean. Pick up your trash.
- Keep
it tasteful, no large Nazi flags displays, etc.
-
No
open selling of ammo/pyro including blank ammo. Range Control
restricts all ammo in the cantonment. All blank ammo and pyro
must be
kept locked in your vehicle out of sight until you are walking/riding
to the Training Area. No exceptions - Please do not try and
sell ammo/pyro here.
Parking:
POV
parking for camping and during the battle on Saturday will be at
the
Asphalt Plant parking lot inside the fence. Directions will
be available at Registration.
Private
room parking is right in front of your room. Barracks bunk
parking is limited and you will be directed where to park upon arrival
at the event.
Training
Area:
Maps
will be provided to unit commanders. All personal
will be directed to the Training Area POV parking
lot. No personal
vehicles, except period correct, will be allowed in the Training Area.
Period
vehicle shuttles will be used for participants needing rides
to the
camping areas. We are using Training Area 1 and 2 only.
