Optional Activities
Living
History Village -
As
an added element of interest, part of Cassidy Village will be
turned into a living history section filled with French civilians.
We
need people to
come in and become part of the atmosphere at the event. Can
you help? We want
your displays, signs, and other props to help it become a European
city.
The
R&R area will be allocated for this purpose. E-mail the Event Staff as soon
as possible and let us know what you can bring.
Church Service
-
We are looking for someone to conduct a Church service on
Saturday
morning before the battle.
Baseball
Game -
A
baseball game is in the planning stages for Friday afternoon starting
at 17:00. Bring your period glove and bat.
If
you
can loan them for others to use, even better. Contact Steven
Thomas to participate. Vintage gloves can be purchased here - http://www.pasttimesports.biz/baseball.html.Movie
Showing
-
There will be a Friday night movie at the combat village near the period camps. Mike Sears
of British 7th Para will be bringing his 16mm projector and
equipment. First on the bill is a 15 minute 1943 US Army training film
on map reading. The main feature is the 1941 Bob Hope classic "Caught
in the Draft". If there is enough interest, we may show a 3rd film.
Other ideas?
Want to volunteer?
Got
a great idea? Tell us
what you are thinking and maybe we can add it to
the schedule. If you would like to volunteer to help with the
above
events, e-mail the Event Staff.
